1. Call or email me:  We can discuss what your needs are and get to know each other a little – and make sure we are a good fit.  We will then schedule an Initial Consultation.
  2. Initial Consultation:  We get together at my home studio for a consultation or your home.  This is when we review the logistics of the shoot – location, clothes, timing, etc.  We’ll review your plans for the finished images, and review different studio samples of products.  This usually lasts no longer than 30 minutes and we’ve found it to be an essential step towards a successful shoot. This can also be done via phone.
  3. Preparation:  We will scout out locations based on our discussion, or try out different backdrops for a studio session.  We will also ask you to take pictures of walls you are considering for your finished images – or we can come over to your home and take pictures.  This is invaluable when it comes time to choosing products and images.
  4. The Session:  Whether it’s on location or in the studio – it will be fun! The kids’ personalities will come out.  On location, we will scout around chasing the sun and the great light. We shoot until we get it right.
  5. Sneak Peeks:  Within a day or so of the session, I will email over a few sneak peeks from the session – just to get you excited.
  6. Ordering Session in the Studio:  Within about two weeks of the shoot, I will have you come back to review your images in high definition in my studio or I will come to you.  I will help you narrow down your choices and admire your beautiful portraits. This meeting will take approximately an hour and is designed for you to place your order. Please bring with you anyone necessary in helping you choose the images.
  7. Delivery and Installation:  Once your products arrive back from the lab and framers, I will let you know. The images look just amazing on your walls.
  8. You just love your images and smile every time you walk by them:  And these products will last a lifetime – so you and your family will be smiling for years.
  9. You tell your friends how much you loved the process:  We work really hard to make it look really easy. We’re only happy when you are thrilled.
  10. What to bring?  The best photographs are made when kids are enjoying themselves. Fun accessories like hats or balloons or lollipops. Kids favorite toy and blanket is also great; anything that excites your child. A ball and bubbles work well too. Bringing snacks, drinks, wipes and a hairbrush or comb is useful. Let the photographer know if you have any particular poses in mind. What to wear?  Make sure your child is comfortable. We suggest clothes with fun colors and no large graphic prints.  Also bring a change of clothes.
  11. When to book us? Take your child’s schedule into consideration. As a parent you know when your child is at his or her best.  Children’s portrait sessions should be scheduled for a time of day when they are well-rested and alert.
  12. How long will it take to view the images? Two weeks.
  13. When will I receive the prints? You will receive the prints approximately 1 month after you place your order.
  14. What if I want to order additional prints? You may order prints directly through us. Just email us the IMG number and size of the image you would like. We do not hold onto images forever so if you would like additional images, please let us know as soon as possible.
  15. How much are the additional prints and do you make albums? You can email us at for a complete price guide.
  16. What if I want the digital files on a DVD? I offer free watermarked jpgs for social  networking or to email friends of any images that you order for print.
  17. Which location should we shoot in? Choose an area or activity that your children will enjoy. I am also full of suggestions. A playground, park, your home, a riverfront, rooftop or even the streets of Tribeca make lovely locations. I am personally a fan of The High Line.

I offer special packages for adults who need a portrait for online usage or business purposes. Please inquire.
